[English]

Background and Aim: Balance is an index to determine the level of independency of elderly in their daily activities. The purpose of this study was to investigate comparision effect of balance training with and without suit therapy on balance and gait in elderly.
Materials and Methods: Thirty-six elderly with the mean age of 76.94±6.86 years and weight of 72.80±45.90 Kg,  voluntarily and purposefully were recruited in this study and then  were randomly assigned into three groups of control, without suit therapy and with suit therapy. The groups with and without suit therapy received 6 weeks of balance training including 3 sessions per week, each session; 60 minutes, while the elderly of the control group haven't been receiving traning during this period. Balance with berg tesst and gait with  Tinetti test were evaluted at the beginning and the end of study. All data were analysed  using ANOVA test with repeated measures.
Results: The result of study showed no significant difference in balance between three groups. The result of study showed significant difference in gait between three groups (P=0/047), the group with suit therapy was significantly more effective than the group control (P=0/012).
Conclusion: In elderly's gait improvement, to do balance training with suit therapy is better than not to do it. To do balance traning with suit therapy is adviced to elderly as a effective method
