Abstract

Background & Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of 30 minutes whole body pre-cooling on anaerobic performance indices in men futsal players.
Material and Methods: 12 male subjects were tested in random order in cross over study after  either 30 minutes of precooling using ice jackets  or under control conditions(no precooling).Tests were separated by minimum of three days. This was immediately followed by RAST anaerobic power test. TET-350 digital thermometer and hp-cosmos lactometer were used to measure core temperature and blood lactate, respectively. T-independent test were also used to compare changes between groups.
Results: Findings showed that maximum, mean and minimum power output, heart rate and core temperature after precooling were significantly higher than the control group (P< 0/05) but, significant differences between the groups were not observed in blood lactate levels (PConclusions: These results suggest that 30 minutes of precooling improve repeated bouts of intensive activity through the occlusion of Skin Vessels to stimulate blood flow to the working muscles.
