Central obesity and its association with cardiovascular fitness of the faculty and staff of the University of Mazandaran
Background: Obesity, and in particular excessive visceral fat, are associated with a number of health problems, including increased risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and early death. The main objective of the present study was to monitor the body composition (BMI, HC, WC, NC), central obesity (SBSI, BAI, WHR and WHtR) and functional indicators ( Shuttle and Pedometer) has been in faculty and staff of the male and female university of Mazandaran
Methodology: This study randomly assigned 300 personnel of Mazandaran University. The objective tools (pedometer and shuttle) were used to estimate Vo2max. In addition, central obesity indices of body composition were measured.
Results: The results of this study indicate that significant gender differences were observed in WHR, BAI and WHtR indices in the groups of faculty members and staff of Mazandaran University. On the other hand, observing the status of their central obesity by SBSI indicates that there is no statistically significant difference between the two sexes and between the status of the staff and the faculty.
Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, central obesity is different between faculty members and university staff, and this difference is related to the gender of individuals, so that, despite the higher number of steps in women, central obesity derived from most of the traditional indicators in them Higher.
